Debasoft STA has been developed to prevent the damage caused during mechanical operations and finishing due to insufficient and uneven conditioning. By absorbing the humidity from the atmosphere and by not letting it to evaporate Debasoft STA keeps the internal water concentration in equilibrium within leather.
Debasoft STA improves the tear and tensile strength along with grain elasticity.
Mostly encountered problems during leather production results from over drying of leathers. By keeping the internal humidity in equilibrium Debasoft STA avoids and prevents below listed problems:
• Grain cracking and lack of grain elasticity, insufficient tear and tensile strength
• Formation of high electrostatic charge during polishing, buffing and dry shaving
• Sticking of leather surface during vacuum drying
• Formation of crispation after consecutive spray coatings
• Wrinkle formation during stocking and piling
• Uneven grain pattern after dry milling.
Garments, made of leathers treated with Debasoft STA, keep their wet touch and their softness even after long storage and exhibition. Glycerin and other simple polyalcohols loose the humidity with the temperature increase as fast as they have absorbed, while Debasoft STA, due to its restrictive hygroscopic property, keeps the humidity within the leather at equilibrium at all circumstances.
Application recipes
We recommend 1 – 3 % together with fatliquors.
