Debasoft CGS has a wide range of applications as feel and shine improver in the processing of all types of leather and fur. The product has outstanding softening and antistatic effect. When applied in a fresh bath after acidification Debasoft CGS improves the surface smoothness and gives a full, soft handle together with a very pleasant waxy feel to grain leather and an outstanding shine and writing effect to suede. Its use in nubuk, suede and double-face manufacture is strongly recommended.
Debasoft CGS is a cationic product with self-emulsifying power. It is fully compatible with cationic and nonionic tanning materials, cationic dyestuffs and other cationic and nonionic leather auxiliaries. Debasoft CGS does not yellow and has very good light fastness. Due to its cationic character, Debasoft CGS acts also a fixing agent for anionic dyes and fat liquors and as a result leathers with more flexible grain and with a pleasant oily feel are obtained.
When used in chrome tanning floats Debasoft CGS increases the chrome uptake. The product has very good stability in chrome tanning floats therefore its use increases the softness of the leathers. Debasoft CGS solutions are very stable to hard waters, acids
Application recipes
The product is dilutable in cold water.
In tanning, before chrome tanning salts 0,3 – 0,4 % based on raw salted weight
In retanning, before the addition of chrome tanning salts: 0,6 – 1,0 % based on shaved weight
As touch modifier in a fresh bath, after acidification
On shaved weight 0,5 – 2,0 %
On dry weight 1,0 – 3,0 %
Remarks
Sensible to frost. Stable 6 months from the date of production in not freezing conditions. For further information please refer to its MSDS.
